The non-resident Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Burundi is H.E. Nobile Angelo Federico ARCELLI, PhD, knight of Grace and Devotion.

Ambassador Arcelli is an academic, holding a chair in economics of international institution at Marconi University and lecturing in Università Cattolica. He is also a senior fellow at CIGI – Centre for International Governance Innovation (Canada) and has been a visiting fellow at SAIS – School of Advanced International Studies (Johns Hopkins University).

In his previous professional life he spent over 15 years working for several international financial institutions, including serving as adviser (and board member) of the World Bank Group, adviser in the IEG – Independent Evaluation Group (WBG), senior adviser to the vice president of the European Investment Bank, and, in that capacity, also senior adviser to the EIB – European Investment Bank governor in the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) board of governors.

He has also a several private sector experiences, including working for primary consulting firms.
